Rafael Costa Joins Marathon Technologies as Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Proven Sales Leader Tapped to Drive Company’s Sales in its Next Phase of Growth

Littleton, Mass. — November 16, 2009 — Marathon Technologies, the award-winning provider of fault-tolerant, high availability software for physical and virtual servers, today announced that Rafael Costa has joined the company as its new vice president of worldwide sales. With more than two decades of experience growing revenue and improving customer satisfaction, Costa will drive Marathon’s next phase of growth by leading the company’s sales worldwide. Costa reports directly to Marathon’s president and CEO Jim Welch.

Costa brings a wealth of executive sales management experience to the position. Costa joined Marathon from CDC Software, where he served as CDC Global Services group general manager responsible for five business units. Prior to CDC Software, Costa worked as general manager of Vis.align, vice president of sales at Bang Networks and worldwide vice president of indirect and OEM channels at Inktomi. He was also instrumental in leading sales efforts at Hitachi Data Systems and IBM.
